Where to get treatment

If you test positive for a sexually transmitted infection (STI) through GetCheckedOnline, a nurse from the BC Centre for Disease Control will talk to you about treatment options.

If you live in the Vancouver area, you can arrange to come into one of our clinics or your can visit another public health clinic, walk-in clinic or your family doctor.  The clinic finder on SmartSexResource can help you find a clinic in your area.

If you live outside the Vancouver area, the nurse can help you find a clinic to go to for treatment. Island and Interior Health have partnered with a number of clinics in Victoria, Langford, Duncan, Kamloops and Nelson. These clinics are familiar with GetCheckedOnline and can provide treatment to GetCheckedOnline clients.  You can also go to a different walk-in clinic or to your family doctor.

Please note that if you go to a private walk-in clinic for treatment, you will need to show your BC Care Card.

Treatment Information Sheets

If you need treatment for Chlamydia or gonorrhea, or further testing for hepatitis C, you can download information sheets to bring to the clinic and show the doctor or nurse.
